81wineredlp Posted October 8, 2007 CID Share Posted October 8, 2007 My laptop with the wireless system is working fine, but my PC desktop won't connect anymore after a reformat. I connected the desktop directly to the modem, but it still isn't working. It appears the IP address has disappeared. My computer is a few years old and is running XP. Anyone ever have this problem? Buntz Posted October 8, 2007 CID Share Posted October 8, 2007 Did you make sure that you reinstall the drivers for the Ethernet controller that you are using. It should be on the CD that you got with the motherboard. If you did not get a CD you can get the drivers from the manufacture of the Ethernet controller web site.
