tommie gorman Posted October 23, 2007 CID Share Posted October 23, 2007 Have you tried the TCP Optimizer or cablenut? I have had best luck with TCP Optimizer on both EVDO and Satelite. But each to their own. http://www.testmy.net/t-1013 And the Optimizer is much easier to figure out and run.

tommie gorman Posted October 26, 2007 CID Share Posted October 26, 2007 Are you behind a router? If so try directly to the modem without the router in the middle. Try this test. http://www.testmy.net/dl-2992 Bigger sometimes is better.

tommie gorman Posted October 26, 2007 CID Share Posted October 26, 2007 So are those the speeds you were looking for? If not try without the router in between. Other than checking to see if anything is running in the background. Like IM or well anything else that would eat up bandwidth.

tommie gorman Posted October 27, 2007 CID Share Posted October 27, 2007 What did they say your speeds were supposed to be? The advertised speeds for the package? Without knowing that I have no idea. And the percentage is for all packages that your ISP provides. Like one might provide from 500/50 up to 1500/200. Or Like DSL is from as low as 768 D/L speeds up to ansd as high as 8000 D/L speeds. So the estimated speed isan averae more or less.
evilmatty Posted October 27, 2007 Author CID Share Posted October 27, 2007 my speeds are meant to be 1500kbps... also i dont know what programs to turn off and what to leave on rofl
tommie gorman Posted October 27, 2007 CID Share Posted October 27, 2007 Go to start*run* type in "msconfig* press enter*start up tab. And google everything in there that is checked. Myself I only want my antispyware and anti virus programs running. Well I used to. But now I use IM a lot so it is also now checked. But shut off all that you do not use everytime you get on the computer. The rest will come on when you need them and prompt them. Other wise they do not have to be in service just because you logged on. Yes I shut mine off every night. And you can also go into Ctrl+Alt+Delete and go to the applications tab. It will show some that are running. So that would be that part.
