cordell383 Posted December 22, 2007 CID Share Posted December 22, 2007 Hello everyone, I need help, I have a Dell E521 with a 22" Wide screen that I dual boot with Vista and XP. I just purchased a video card that allows DVI out so i can run my XBox 360 to it through the VGA cable. No the problem is everything works great in XP but when i boot in Vista i have no sound. The Xbox cable has two RCAs for sound that have a convertor to make them one 3.5 mm jack and is plugged in the line in on the back of the PC. So it works on Xp but not Vista, all new drivers for motherboard, oh it has on board sound too. Thanks In advance, James

jdbendijo Posted December 23, 2007 CID Share Posted December 23, 2007 You should check the settings on your vista. Go to control panel then click the "sound" icon. If you have lists of sounds available, you should test each one which one works. In my case, I have 2 audio sources and I was confused at first why my audio worked only on the back panel but not in front. That's how I discovered that on vista, you should check your settings manually coz sometimes, the default configuration doesn't work very well.
