My provider is Centurytel.  My advertised speed is 768K/128K.(DSL)

Comp Info:Dell Dim. 8100

                  1.7ghz proc.

                  256mb ram

                  WinXP(SP2)

                  Netopia; cayman3300 modem

Ok here is URL and thanks for any help you can give VanBuren.  The only thing I am not sure about is when I answered normal on the connection box up top.  If that makes a difference and I need to retest where do I find out for sure that connection.

do you have a router?

If so, bypass it and connect direct to modem and make a new tweaktest

this Max packet sent (MTU): 1448 is very rare, infact i have never seen it

it might be your router messing it up, or your ISP has limited MTU to that

VanBuren ;)

download and install Cablenut https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64

download this attached file (DSL 768 128.zip ), unzip it to C:ProgramCablenut

open cablenut adjuster, in top left corner click file, load custom settings file,  browse to C:ProgramCablenut and dubble click on the file you unzipped.

now click save to registry and reboot

check speed again, use the 2992 KB testfile for download and 1496KB testfile upstream, also make a new tweaktest and post result

good luck

Your PC is connected to a Cable/DSL modem

I updated the Cablenut file, download this attached file and overwrite the old one

open it in cablenut and click save to registry as before, after that check speed and make a new tweaktest

About the same but when I click a link now there seems to be longer pause before it starts but then when it does go everything seems to load faster.

i modifyed the file abit more, if you dont go faster now, there is nothing more to tweak

try this, overwrite the old one and load it from cablenut, click save to registry and reboot

make new speed and tweaktest

Thank you Van Buren for all the help.  Looks I am staying right where I am, but it is at least staying steady.  Thanks a bunch.
