Le_Murphant Posted March 23, 2008 CID Share Posted March 23, 2008 I'm looking for a way to get remote access to my parent's computer, perhaps through LogMeIn. I was wondering if one needed to be logged into an account to get remote access or would I be able to create a LogMeIn account that would have administrator rights? I would mainly use the connection to install updates and troubleshoot. Could I have access to all the accounts? Is there a program that can do that? dlewis23 Posted March 23, 2008 CID Share Posted March 23, 2008 using the remote desktop that is built into windows vista would be best. that would give you all the access you need.

Le_Murphant Posted March 23, 2008 Author CID Share Posted March 23, 2008 What IP address do I use? My internal address, my external address or both? Also, what services need to be enabled in the XP machine? I have disabled a few that I didn't think I needed. And are there ports that need to be forwarded on the routers?
