KBert Posted February 11, 2005 CID Share Posted February 11, 2005 I find little mention of firewall recommendations... other than the references to Zonealarm maybe (not) causing problems. My installer today said there's no need for a firewall!... I find this hard to believe. What should I do _now_? And what's the _best _ approach? Guest wmmc Posted February 11, 2005 CID Share Posted February 11, 2005 Yep I had problems with Zone Alarm when I had satellite, now use Sygate Personal Firewall(free), and it works better even when used satellite, had problems with ZA on dialup also, so I put back Sygate PF, Kerio is another to consider, free or paid (as Sygate). LLLL Posted February 12, 2005 CID Share Posted February 12, 2005 Do you have the CE version of DW?
rlh24 Posted February 12, 2005 CID Share Posted February 12, 2005 KBert. I run zone alarm pro 5 with my CE version of the DW6000. I have not had any problems with this firewall after getting it configured correctly. First, you get what you pay for.
