Saw this on Slashdot.org..  Thought it was pretty interesting.. have a look and maybe this will answer you questions about why FF seems slower than IE.. maybe it is because of how the site were built!

o by the way.. Opera 6.03 was the fastest..

"From a humerous perspective, it is interesting to note that IE on Windows is slowing down, in the majority of tests."  Just take a look.. maybe this could be the patches.. it doesnt say if he is running patches..

I have Opera 8.0. and Firefox. Opera is faster on the download, And Firefox is faster on the Upload. I NEVER USE INTERNET EXPLORE
