XSF Posted February 13, 2005 CID Share Posted February 13, 2005 Ok, here's the deal. I have Comcast cable and I've been using a splitter for the internet and tv. I've done this for about 7 months and it worked great. Now all of a sudden, I started to get drops and connections wouldn't last more than an hour. So I plugged my cable modem directly into the wall jack and it works fine. But now using a splitter doesn't work anymore.... how can that be? I've tested: I've used the orginal splitter and I know it works because the TV works I bought a Monster 2ghz splitter and it still doesn't work. TV works but my cable modem gets no signal whatsoever. I've changed the cables on all ends. Bottomline, my cable modem just doesn't want to work with a splitter, no matter what. Why would this change all of a sudden when it worked fine for 7 months? THanks guys PS - I have two cable modems to try out any tests (Motorola SB5100 and Toshiba PCX2200)

Argh, I hate asking for help from a comcast tech.... but maybe he'll know his stuff
