Onibus Posted February 19, 2005 CID Share Posted February 19, 2005 Hi ya, Comcast recently upgraded to the 4Mbps speed. I normally hit 3.3mpbs (sometimes higher, sometimes lower... but that's the avg), however, I recently noticed something. When i was looking over some forum posts, i saw the pathping command, so i decided to try it out. The following pathping is NOT the first one i've done, nor is it the one from the day i decided to do it. It's been about a week and I've done it about 6 times. Here is the result: C:Documents and SettingsPyuu>pathping www.testmy.net Tracing route to www.testmy.net [67.19.36.6] over a maximum of 30 hops: 0 neko.paduca01.ky.Comcast.net [69.139.122.252] 1 10.65.204.1 2 172.30.188.81 3 12.124.64.45 4 tbr2-p013801.attga.ip.att.net [12.123.21.101] 5 tbr1-cl1.dlstx.ip.att.net [12.122.2.89] 6 gar1-p360.dlrtx.ip.att.net [12.123.196.101] 7 12.119.136.14 8 dist-vlan32.dsr3-1.dllstx3.theplanet.com [70.85.127.61] 9 dist-vlan21.dsr1-1.dllstx2.theplanet.com [70.85.127.67] 10 dsr2-1-v1.dllstx4.theplanet.com [12.96.160.7] 11 gig1-0-1.tp-car9-1.dllstx4.theplanet.com [67.18.116.69] 12 6.67-19-36.reverse.theplanet.com [67.19.36.6] Computing statistics for 300 seconds... VanBuren Posted February 19, 2005 CID Share Posted February 19, 2005 no problem you could try this ping -n 100 12.119.136.14 and copy result and paste it here, lets see if you loose packets on that node VanBuren

Onibus Posted February 19, 2005 Author CID Share Posted February 19, 2005 yep, i randomly went through the forums and found a user that had the same speed/service as me and found the 4000/386 files attached. I reconfigured my connection because i was using 4400/386 but just modified a couple settings that were similar to the 4000/xxx file =P. I'm currently using your 4000/386 file. VanBuren Posted February 19, 2005 CID Share Posted February 19, 2005 you should be able to go closer to 4 Mbps... do you have a router?, if so bypass it and connect your modem direct via ethernet to your pc VanBuren
