ToWhateverEnd Posted March 7, 2005 CID Share Posted March 7, 2005 Advertised speed 3 megs Are you sure your advertised speed is 3 mbps and not 4? The new "standard" package for comcast cable is 4 mbps, they upgraded their current members, maybe you got the upgrade and didn't even notice. With no tweaking getting 500 over your advertised speed seems almost too excellent. I'd get cablenut and try the tweak for 4000/384 since I think you have the 4 mbps package...but if you are positive you don't then use the 3000 cablenut file. McCleud Posted March 7, 2005 CID Share Posted March 7, 2005 Yes. When it works, it works great. Was glad to see Comcast tried to make it worth 'continuing' to pay for the higher priced home networking package by bumping it from original 4 to 6mbps in the recent global bump. Sure would be nice if they would just go ahead and make it 10 :::.. landincoldfire Posted March 7, 2005 CID Share Posted March 7, 2005 I can't say that I have ever had any problem with Comcast. Have the 4MB package with the Digital cable, my bill is high, but it worth it for bragging rights for now. Down close to Philly they are test the fiber internet, when that comes here. That is what I will have.
FallenDeathAngel Posted March 7, 2005 CID Share Posted March 7, 2005 10mbps download limit would most likely make your connection get slower at times because, with people being able to download faster / possibly faster upload also, the nodes would be maxed out. The current upgrades are compliant with their hardware..thats why its only 6meg currently, but expect small upgrades here and there without notice, we could all be to 10mbps in a couple months, speaking hypothetically of course.
