Odysseus_____ Posted March 10, 2005 CID Share Posted March 10, 2005 Fiber if it is in the roads then y cant they run it to my house? My guess would be cost. Doesn't seem like it would cost extra to do, but from what I've read fiber installations can take anywhere from a few hours to all day and then some.... Multiply that by the number of customers and it begins to be a big deal as far as man-hours.... Short and quick answer for Bellsouth?? stop at the pole and use the existing copper wires (not quite as good as fiber, but certainly capable of 100 megabit connections)....
