dadjlh Posted March 13, 2005 CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 I have not been able to run sattelite speed test since Feb.26th using Mydirecway. I realize it is a bogus test, but wanted to compare to previous results to determine if speed is up or down. Thanks to anyone who can help. dadjlh Posted March 13, 2005 Author CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 Thanks for the welcome. First time posting, but longtime reader. Issue is to compare to previous MyDirecway results, as stated. I have been, of course, running tests here, but wanted to compare to my past results on their website. Thanks, again.

dadjlh Posted March 13, 2005 Author CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 Sorry, it just gives me my previous log results and does not give the prompt to click on to run test.
Aggr3 Posted March 13, 2005 CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 I had the same thing happen....go to tools...internet options...advanced.....scroll down to http 1.1 settings....below that should be (sun) java.....or something similar....if it's GONE...then the page with the run test button won't show up...you'll need to go to the microsoft website and get it.... That's of course if you are running win XP...sorry I'm assuming her you are..
dadjlh Posted March 13, 2005 Author CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 Thanks, you were right. Went to microsoft installed java and works, now. Funny, mozilla which uses java very well would not even give me a prompt to log in. Thanks, again.

rlh24 Posted March 13, 2005 CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 I used to run Firefox myself. I noticed that IE6 was consistently faster on speed test. I know that is not the only considerartion, just one point.
REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted March 13, 2005 CID Share Posted March 13, 2005 For me I.E is faster in download but slow in upload . In Firefox for me the download is like 100Kb less than in I.E but the upload is about 20Kb faster than I.E. So there isn't that much of a difference both of them.
