  1. O.K. I'll post again, since my post is not locked anymore. Why was that? Anyway, my only choice in this rural area is satellite. DirecWay or (just recently) Wild Blue. FYI pinged to testmy.net was 609ms. Pinging using DirecWay to testmy.net was usually 823ms. Latency on games is less than DirecWay on pc games (H2) and xbox live (H2), but still not real good. You wouldn't always lose, but often enough. If you can host the game and it is on your server, you are good to go, otherwise, forget it. Downloads on DirecWay (DW6000 Consumer account) averaged around 85K. Downloads on WB (pro pak) averages 225K. Uploads on DW was 4K. Uploads on WB is 30K. Connections on DW was around 990K. WB is 1500K. FAP on DW was 169meg, WB is 22Gig per month. That's all I can tell you at this time, but my local WB provider (rural electric co-op) has asked me to keep DW for awhile to compare the two systems during inclement weather, so I might have additional data later.
  2. Haven't posted much on this forum, but used it tremendously. Hate to leave it, but boy, Wild Blue, so far, is so much better. The FAP is almost nonexistent. The connection speed is 60 percent better and the download speed is 80 percent better. The upload speed is 400 percent better. The cost, compared to upgrading to the 7000 series, is less than half and the monthly cost is less. GET IT WHEN YOU CAN.
  3. Yes it does work great with DW6000, however when running in the tray it prevents the computer from rebooting or shutting down without exiting the program. No biggy, just irritating.
  4. Pretty fast? Not hardly: :::.. 5. Hate to steal another's post, but I have the exact same question. Only difference is I have been paying for my DW6000 for about 13months and it is almost paid for. However, I have noticed the difference in speeds of the DW4000 and have noticed several on E-bay. I wandered if I bought a DW4000 will it work with the current DW6000 dish? My current specs vary so much, but I have used Rev's tweaks, TCP Optimizer, and the Proxy settings. Best I can get is: :::.. 6. Thanks, you were right. Went to microsoft installed java and works, now. Funny, mozilla which uses java very well would not even give me a prompt to log in. Thanks, again.
  7. Sorry, it just gives me my previous log results and does not give the prompt to click on to run test.
  8. Thanks for the welcome. First time posting, but longtime reader. Issue is to compare to previous MyDirecway results, as stated. I have been, of course, running tests here, but wanted to compare to my past results on their website. Thanks, again.
  9. I have not been able to run sattelite speed test since Feb.26th using Mydirecway. I realize it is a bogus test, but wanted to compare to previous results to determine if speed is up or down. Thanks to anyone who can help.
