try this:

open the start menu, click on run.  Type in cmd, and press enter.  Type ping -f -l 1500 and make the number as big as possible without it saying Packet needs to be fragmented but DF set.

open DrTCP and enter that number as your mtu, save, reboot your computer, and try the download test again

Looks like an improvement.  Time to crash since I have to be up for work in about 6 hours.  I'll try some more tests with Cablenut, etc. tomorrow in the PM and post with any other improvements.

hey Kyser Sose and welcome to the forum :)

i think its your router messing with ya, your MTU should be 1500 and not 1472

do you have a manual for your router? if so look for MTU setup and make sure you set it to 1500

I have no cablenut files for that MTU so thats why it wont work for you

I was afraid that might be the case with this modem.  I guess the good/bad thing is I bought the modem a few years ago on sale so I can't trade it in but I can buy a replacement.  By now I've more than broken even by buying the modem versus what I would have paid in modem rental fees to Cox.

Right now D-Link has a $20 rebate for the DCM-202 so it might be time for another upgrade.
