Did you reset your modum by turning off your computer and unplug your modum. Wait 2 min then plug in your modum. Wait 2 more min the turn on your pc. If all thats been done and still can not find the problem then you may want to give cable nut a shot. Generally speaking xp is pretty tweaked for dsl.
