get rid of verizon, seriously.  i had it here (in Va) for about 1.5 years, it started out ok, with little problems.  but after about 6 months the speed started to go down, and i started getting a lot of down time.  calling them would only get me "we'll put a trouble ticket in" every time i called, which was quite often.

i switched to comcast, which has been wonderful for me.  it has downtime, but its fixed quickly, and they will work with you if its not on their end.

what package do you have???? I just tested my upload its faster than your download, lol

Your connection is:  554  Kbps      (about 0.6 Mbps)

You uploaded at: 68 kB/s

Your TRuSPEED: ^info^ 593 Kbps :: 73 kB/s (7% overhead factored)

Bottom Line: You are running: 10 times faster than 56K and can upload 1 megabyte in 15.06 second(s)

Diagnosis: Looks Great : 17.12 % faster than the average for host (verizon.net)

^ and thats with 3 comps running and the crappy wireless router/modem combo.  If you have the old dsl modem use it and you will usually do better.

Thanks for all your help guys. I believe that my problem lies not in my computer nor router, but w/ Verizon itself right now. I live in Massachusetts, and as i have heard, Verizon has been doing pretty crappy up in the New England area. I plan on calling in and probably upgrading to the 3MB package, which should help me. I hope...lol
