VanBuren Posted July 18, 2005 CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 what is my value for MSS . I have PPPoE and it is directly connected to the internet through the modem. I do not have a router. have you tried the 3000/768 from MSS 1440 folder? if not do that, if that dosent work try this attached file notice that everytime you load new settings, you need to click save to registry in cablenut and reboot your PC VanBuren

wyantm06 Posted July 18, 2005 CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 Did you uninstall SP2 then??? Because if you did I'm going to before I receive my CABLE RR
ajb62787 Posted July 18, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 18, 2005 I did because it was going sluggish even when I had 0 viruses 0 spyware 0 adware and firewall plus. But now its at the advertised speed for verizon but is .5Mbps short of average verizon.net speed which is close to 3.5Mbps. I guess when I downloaded SP2 in place of SP1 , it caused the problem. So if you have Windows XP with SP2 already installed on the disk from Microsoft , then it will work.
