meionm Posted July 17, 2005 CID Share Posted July 17, 2005 So my 6m connection got little slower maybe 3-4m range, this wouldn't be bad but my ping like to yahoo.com or google.com got to over 100ms. Usually in the morning my ping to websites that I mention is like 33ms but over the day it get worse and worse. I even stopped playing online games. I called comcast and they will send somebody to me. So what do I make tech look for. I know it's nothing wrong on my side (I think)

cmarkmyers Posted July 19, 2005 CID Share Posted July 19, 2005 Unless the problem is obvious I doubt the tech will do much. The first thing he will probably do is test the line. Then he may install an amplifier and/or give you a dedicated line and hopefully one of those will fix your problem.
destructionfever Posted July 19, 2005 CID Share Posted July 19, 2005 I had an amp put in due to weak signal strength. It made the internet connection stronger. It also gave me strong cable TV signals. If the tech has to hook up an amp for you it might not be a bad thing.
meionm Posted July 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 20, 2005 Wll the tech came yesterday and I was told the signal was strong, and there is nothing that he can do. Also that was mine day off, it turns out that internet connection is fast through the day close to 7m according to testmy.net. Though around 6pm to like next day connection speed drops to 3M and has high ping
