luwigie Posted September 22, 2004 CID Share Posted September 22, 2004 Is the modem on the first cable split? If not, this might be causing part of this problem. What were you on before you moved? Did you tweak the connection that you had previously on that same computer? If so, I would re-tweak. How are you hooked up to the modem? Try to hook the modem right up to your computer if you are currently using a router, or change from USB to ethernet, if possible.
reno Posted September 22, 2004 Author CID Share Posted September 22, 2004 There are two splitters, and the modem is on the frist one that goes to the modem. I am on the same thing that I was on before I moved, (we only moved a few miles away) I did tweak the modem and my computer and I am connected using the Eathernet. No router. luwigie Posted September 22, 2004 CID Share Posted September 22, 2004 What speeds do your neighbors get? Is everything exactly the same, carrier, modem, computer, tweaks, connection, as it was before your move? (other than the location of course)

Whats some good tweaks that I can do? I see your from NY, maby you got bad routing to testmy.net try this speedtest located in NY http://nyc.speakeasy.net/ If you get above 90% of your advertised cap then you dont need to tweak.
