milchama Posted July 24, 2005 CID Share Posted July 24, 2005 I have read quite a few threads and have found plenty of useful material. I have installed cablenut and have witnessed minimal increases on both upload and download. :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is:: 286 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Upload Speed is:: 35 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Sun Jul 24 02:50:38 CDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 5X faster than 56K 1MB upload in 29.26 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 38.83 % faster than the average for host (mchsi.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-24LB8I5GZ :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4696 Kbps about 4.7 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Download Speed is:: 573 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server1) Test Time:: Sun Jul 24 03:14:44 CDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 84X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.79 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 26.03 % faster than the average for host (mchsi.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-S97U3MGL4 My Dload was hitting approx 4550Kbs - 4613kbs and Upload was 236 Kbps. I have mediacom cable for only $15 per/mo for 2 mo.s then $29.95 per/mo thereafter. I am gonna run Norton 2004 in Safe Mode and what happens does anyone know if Mediacom plans on upgrading their upload speed? 256 is crummy. My Dload was 3Mbps but was upgraded to 5Mbps and I gues some people are getting 10Mbps.
