Sexual Vanilla Posted July 26, 2005 CID Share Posted July 26, 2005 Hello all. I have Charter Pipeline cable internet, 3 Mbps down and 256 Kbps up. I regularly get speeds of close to 3000 and 240 at all times of the day, except from about 9:00 pm till about 11:30 pm. My speeds drop off significantly during that time, to around 300 Kbps down and 50 Kbps up. This is a daily occurence. There has not been a day in the past 2 weeks where I didn't experience this drop in speeds. I know about cable connectivity being sketchy during peak usage, but this is like someone is flipping a switch. Right at 9 my speeds drop, and right around 11:30 they return. Any ideas on what is causing it, and/or what I can do to prevent it from happening?

Sexual Vanilla Posted July 26, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 26, 2005 Hello FallowEarth. Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for the reply. I tried running the tracert command to https://testmy.net, but after the hop to my router, then a hop to the next node, I get timeout errors from then on out. Is this normal? Thanks again!
