Summerschool Posted July 29, 2005 CID Share Posted July 29, 2005 Hello, I seem to have this problem with my connection speed, when I restart (or turn on) my computer the speeds are good (around 180kB/s), but then they get worse after a few minutes and level out to around 40-70kB/s. I have changed the settings with cablenut a lot but can't get anything to fix this speed decrease. I have Sprint DSL 1500/256 (although I'm almost positive my upload is capped at 384). Oh and my upload speed is maxed all the time. Any help would be appreciated much. Edit: Speed right after I restart my computer :::.. tbaker397 Posted July 31, 2005 CID Share Posted July 31, 2005 Welcome to the forum Summerschool. Unfortunely that is about all the help I can give you for that is a very weird thing to happen. My only guess which is probably pretty far off, is that, you have running processes in the background of your computer and somehow after its been on for a while, increase the CPU usage, hogs up more memory and in turn causes the computers internet to lag. But that is my only guess, i think, we need Van for this one.

Summerschool Posted August 5, 2005 Author CID Share Posted August 5, 2005 I got this fixed, but I think it was a problem with my wireless connection. I was wirelessly connected to a netgear router and thats when I was getting lots of internet connection problems, like short connection breaks and slow speed. I switched the wired connection to my computer and now I get better constant speed and a better ping (for my games). Thanks anyways
