Corbin Posted July 30, 2005 CID Share Posted July 30, 2005 I have a video file that I would really like to get to disc, it works on my computer fine, I get audio and video, though I had to download a codec to play the audio at first. When I tried to burn it to disc using Ulead Moviefactory 3 I got video but no audio. What do I have to do to get the audio onto my Dvd? Do I have to convert the file? and if so with what? Thanks
MarkX Posted July 30, 2005 CID Share Posted July 30, 2005 Is the file an AVI or an MPG? or what format is it on? and what about the Audio? was it a codec for OGG audio?
Corbin Posted July 30, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 30, 2005 the video is in avi format but i'm not sure on the codec since i downloaded a codec pack. It says avi video format, unknown ac3 audio format or something like that. Is there anyway to find that out? If it was ogg or something else, how would I handle it so that when I burned it I got sound?
MarkX Posted July 30, 2005 CID Share Posted July 30, 2005 First of all i HIGHLY suggest you UNINSTALL any codec packs you may have in your system. they have unpredictable interactions with the video drivers, they can destabilize the system and introduce conflicts between other codecs. After you UNINSTALL the codec packs, get these codecs and programs separately: http://www.doom9.org (Click on the Download Section, Scroll Down and select Avi Editing Tools/show all Avi Editing Tools and look for a program called "Gspot 2.21" this program identifies audio and video codecs in AVIs, displays length, audio and video bitrate, Use this on your AVi to find out what are the codecs) http://downloads.xvid.org/downloads/xvidcore-1.1.0-beta2.zip
Corbin Posted July 30, 2005 Author CID Share Posted July 30, 2005 Thanks for all that I installed gspot and it tells me the video's audio is ac3, so if I used nero it would burn the video with sound? I already tried Moviefactory and all I got was picture no sound
MarkX Posted July 30, 2005 CID Share Posted July 30, 2005 Yeah, try encoding it and burning it with Nero, I am sure the Audio will come out just fine. And if it doesn
