I'd power down the modem (pull the power cord), shut down your PC, leave it for a couple minutes, then return power to the modem, then boot up your PC and try again. I just did, and even though over the phone they said the modem was fine, it wasn't. I'm now at 3 mbps, finally the right range for what they advertise.
