php Posted August 14, 2005 CID Share Posted August 14, 2005 edit: go ahead and do what you want... just remember to stay away from the transmitter, and also remember it's EXTREMELY touchy as to where you point it... good luck I guess
justinlay Posted August 14, 2005 CID Share Posted August 14, 2005 Do you know what bird you are regester with? If you are getin signal of 55 thats your bird. Anything past 30 your locked on. The dish is very touchy! Its not like a Directv dish you can move it 3 inches you still get a signal. What bird you connecting to? Have you missed with the elevation or polaration? dwells248 Posted August 18, 2005 CID Share Posted August 18, 2005 If go into your advanced screen and select setup and then Antenna pointing, it should show you your elevation, azimuth and polarization. This should at least give you a place to start. I'd start out a tick or two higher than the elevation says and work your way down from there until you get the best signal. Then you can adjust your dish left and right, if need be. You most likely won't need to mess with the polarization. Remember to wait about 3 seconds after each "minor" adjustment. As has been stated your direcway dish is very sensitive. You are aiming for a signal about the size of a golf ball. http://192.168.0.1/fs/advanced/advanced.html Good luck, stay away from the transmitter and don't let the FCC know what you are doing.
