tbaker397 Posted August 17, 2005 CID Share Posted August 17, 2005 Heres a download test: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 3254 Kbps about 3.3 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 397 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Tue Aug 16 23:27:00 EDT 2005 Bottom Line:: 58X faster than 56K 1MB download in 2.58 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 89.82 % of your hosts average (adelphia.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-F3Z0SQ8LX Not the best, but according to that i should be able to download at 397 kb/s. Yet, when I download something, I NEVER get more than 260 kb/s. I've done everything I could think of doing, I think it maybe a problem with my onboard NIC, so I tried a wireless link, my router and wireless nic were 4 inches apart and same result. Any help would be much appreciated.

tbaker397 Posted August 17, 2005 Author CID Share Posted August 17, 2005 even on a clean format, with nothing installed except the absolute necessities (AV, AdAware, AIM) this happens.

pbone Posted August 24, 2005 CID Share Posted August 24, 2005 I agree with amc. I usually get between 300KB and 600KB from most servers but from really good ones like Microsoft or Cnet's download.com I get 900KB to 1MB down.
