omgitsjames08 Posted August 19, 2005 CID Share Posted August 19, 2005 I have SBC YAHOO DSL. a 2wire Homeportal modem. The IP changes every like 2 hours. I want it to stay the same, cause im running a Counter-Strike:Source Server, and with the ip changing all the time people say its hard to keep track of it. Any suggestions? MYRIAGON Posted August 19, 2005 CID Share Posted August 19, 2005 SBC must be doing some work, usually, at least when I had them it stayed the same most of the time, anyway you might check with SBC to see if you can purchase or just have them set you up with a static IP/ I'm not sure of any other way to keep it the same, but somebody out here may know how. Swimmer Posted August 19, 2005 CID Share Posted August 19, 2005 you have a dynamic ip address.. they could know that you are running a server so they are changing your ip more often.. you are going to have to either get a static ip address or go with their business class service to avoid this problem.. omgitsjames08 Posted August 19, 2005 Author CID Share Posted August 19, 2005 I got the ip to quit changing every two hours, now it just does it when the modem is reset, its cause a filter wasn't on the phone. it reset the modem everytime it was used. resijs Posted August 19, 2005 CID Share Posted August 19, 2005 That's how a dynamic IP Address works, don't disconnect the modem and you should be fine.
