duffman1234 Posted October 10, 2005 CID Share Posted October 10, 2005 hey, in itunes settings, there is a check box to make the songs to 128 kpbs, what does that mean, i tried it and saves disk space, does it affect music quality? what does it do other than save space? gotmilk Posted October 10, 2005 CID Share Posted October 10, 2005 Well, if it compresses the songs and makes them smaller, then it probably lowers the quality a little bit.

amc11890 Posted October 11, 2005 CID Share Posted October 11, 2005 128kpbs is a decent bit rate....lower than cd quality but personally i dont notice the difference.....By all means if it saves disk space and sounds the same to you go along with it. All of my songs on my mp3 player are set at 64kbps some ppl may think this is a crappy bit rate but i can store much more music and i dont notice a drastic quality difference either.
