Bird Fan Posted November 4, 2005 CID Share Posted November 4, 2005 To: All Active Broadband Dealers This notice is being provided in an effort to supply information concerning the DW7000 upgrade program. The DW7000 upgrade program, which is scheduled to launch November 3rd, will be offered to current DW4000 and DW6000 consumers. The majority of these customers will be able to complete the upgrade process themselves; however, a small percentage of the customers will need an installer to complete the upgrade. In those situations, the orders will be routed in the same manner as the fulfillment installation & repair orders. Also on Mydirecway.com I'll probably be upgrading as soon as my dad gets back from Italy.

Bird Fan Posted November 4, 2005 Author CID Share Posted November 4, 2005 There are many posters at dslreports.com that are getting some good speeds and I've only seen a couple people with bad ones. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/sat If you're on the 4000, I would stay (unless you need the upload), but if you're on the 6000 definately upgrade. Interesting a new firmware release is coming in a few days if only a couple of us are having problems There are MANY having issues with the 7000....another product released crippled out of the box, for many customers. fikester Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 My firmware shows up to date from Nov 1 2005 Software Date: Nov 1 2005, 13:45:41 Software Release: 5.0.1.26 so guess it never came out? also here is another recent post from another member about new firmware NEWS... Over at the dslreports.com forum...a member said that Engineering told him that there was a firmware problem on a lot of the DW7000 modems, and that they are going to rollout new firmware starting Tuesday. Don't expect to get it right away, those firmware updates usually take a few days to go out to everybody. I'm willing to bet that everyone on IA8 (decade) will get it first, and then satmex.... Just hang in there a few more days, I think they'll get it fixed...just wish it didn't take them so darn long...

fikester Posted December 18, 2005 CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 My point is obviously there are more than a "couple" not happy with the 7000, as most any related forum you wish to browse shows many upload issues with the 7000.
Bird Fan Posted December 18, 2005 Author CID Share Posted December 18, 2005 And my point is that that post was when the upgrade was still new...
