Dommy Posted November 15, 2005 CID Share Posted November 15, 2005 I use to have a big problem with a download speed... phoned ISP got that sorted but now it's stupid pings. On games where I should have a ping of about 50 I have 200+. How do I lower ping rates?

VanBuren Posted November 16, 2005 CID Share Posted November 16, 2005 here is a problem your 1st hop ping is way too high 2 119 ms 107 ms 110 ms lo0.lns-15.fm4.milt.as9105.net [212.74.111.221] try rebooting your modem, leave it off for atleast 30 seconds and try again. Also if you have a phone extensionwire, try replacing it or connect your modem direct in main phone socket. VanBuren

dlewis23 Posted November 16, 2005 CID Share Posted November 16, 2005 I've tried that all in the past, I use a router and I don't use phone extensions I use a LAN cable, the power surging the router don't work who is your isp, because its a problem with the data signal, i had the same problem for a few months with high pings. I had the problem because my ISP bellsouth had me on a interlace system for that data path, when it should have been fast. I got it switch back over to the correct setting and my pings were cut in half. To find out weather your on interlaces or fast data path, go into your modem's control panel and find the dsl stats page, it should things like line state, modulation, data path, stuff like that. if it says in there some ware interlaced, then that is what is causing you to get high pings.
