Excel question

hello!!

I have a excel document doing for a project and made it read only ..now i open the file trying to add somthing and it says error it's a read only ..

how do i fix thiss?

on the save screen uncheck read only under options

if you have problems with that simply save it under a differant name

well it should and if not just give it a differant name

you can always delete the old name (read only) and then do a rename

so there isnt a program to do some conversion???from read only

I would not think there is such a program

just play around with my ideas and hopefully if the files are not password protected they will work

simply go to the command prompt and attrib away the read only bit?

you are supposed to be able to do that in explorer under properites also, but the file does not show it is read only

I was going to suggest that until I tried it

then just open it in excel, save as new file w/o read only and there you are.
