i did everything above, i downloaded the cablenut software but i am not very knowlaged in that stuff so i have no idea what any of those settings mean..

I updated everything on my windows xp system, did completely system scans for viruses and spyware, did a registry clean up, cleaned up all unused files with ccleaner... and this is what my stats are now.

Your connection is: 239 Kbps      (about 0.2 Mbps)

You downloaded at: 29 kB/s

Your TRuSPEED: ^info^ 256 Kbps :: 31 kB/s (7% overhead factored)

Bottom Line: You are running: 4 times faster than 56K and can download 1 megabyte in 35.31 second(s)

Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 6.04 % of your hosts average (cox.net)

the same pretty much..No change..    Any futher help would be great.

hows about shut the hell up lol it sux

no thanks, because if you are unable to use a program in which with a dozen mouse clicks you can select a preset file that will take care of all the settings you need, no manual tweaking necessary, i will ignore your judgement along the lines of <huh, i have to do more than start the program? it can't divine what i want to tweak or what connection i have from what isp to set things up?> until you show me a program that can.

edit.

and it seems you are a pest on other threads as well, plus you say the other tool increased your speed by 20, here its 40 kbps. are you just picking random values?

Ok i have been trying to figure out the cablenut program and it shows that my current tcpwindowsize is 256960 and my globalmaxtcpwindowsize is 256960 , maxconnectionsper1_0server is 10 , maxconnectionsperserver 10, defaultTTL is 64, sackopts 1, tcp13230pts 1, tcpmaxdupacts 2... These are the only settings it is showing.. shall i change these? what should i change them to?
