resopalrabotnick Posted December 9, 2005 CID Share Posted December 9, 2005 hm. the ip you are pinging is behind a router and the router is blocking your icmp commands, but telling you it's doing so unlike a home router that will not reply at all because it's trying to hide it, this one is just set to keep clutter off the net behind it. Level3....usu either a network (backbone) router or a subscriber (modem) IP ....both often block ICMP traffic. I couldn't browse to the IP so there is no DNS entry for it. Can I ask why did you choose this IP address?
resopalrabotnick Posted December 10, 2005 CID Share Posted December 10, 2005 well, just blocking the icmp traffic usually means that there is no reply to the ping or other command, thereby leaving it uncertain wether or not the address exists. in this case it is blocking but at the same time giving info that it exists, it just doesn't want you cluttering it. resopalrabotnick Posted December 10, 2005 CID Share Posted December 10, 2005 probably can't ping it because the xbox it's running on is not in that pingable mode. :haha:
