Yeah i have noticed that the SSD speed of my new macbook pro as well. I don't want to bother with hosting an image but I'm getting 926.5MBs write speeds and 980.7MBs read speeds to my 512GB SSD. Its kinda crazy makes my i7 32 gig ram iMac look slow.
