  1. just going to assume you meant the technical question about the tire. in my unerring opinion, it's a definite depends. full blowout/tread seperation or the like, well, you could experience loss of control. then again you could probably catch it if you have your wits about you. slow leaking like flat, you /would/ notice rather fast and reduce speed.

which leaves the question: what in /baleeted/ where you doing racing through town anyhow. think about the little kid chasing his ball across the street and you bearing down at a rate of 40m/sec. consider reaction time about 30 to 40 m, add at least 100 m for stopping distance because of worn tires.

but no hard feelings. now, who wants a mustache-rash?

  2. well, if you're looking in the 250 300 us$ range, take a look at the kodak dx 7440. picked that bad boy up a month ago and am happy with it. 4 MP, but with a 4x optical zoom. disregard digital zoom, since that's just the incredible inflatable pixel. ;)

depending on how serious you want to e snapping pix, this one is nice because you get decent pictures in the auto mode, and you can fiddle with the widgets to your hearts content on manual.

and what's all the bad vibes about trolls? they are some of my favorite SR chars...

  3. well, did the deed. did the deed good.

took my old dell optiplex gx110, thats a 128 meg 128mb p3 with intel 810e onboard graphics.

thing wasn't really worth spending a bunch of loot on, so i popped over  to the local costco, snagged me a 7200rpm maxtor 250gig drive with included ata133/sata150 pci card, and presto. besides now having ornery amounts of space on the sucker, congratulations, you just became my networks fileserver..., i gained about 20 to 30 percent of felt performance. thing is just crisper. faster swapping etc. at least compared o the old quantum fireball 6 gig it had. ;)

just wanted to share a simple single item upgrade at low cost with good results. comments welcome. flames to devnull.
