I mean I got better speeds with my old modem but the new one has so many caps one it that its not funny. I cant even see stats from the new modem cause they have it locked. The router just gets laggy at times but the speed difference is usually only about 50k.

You are lucky if you get the 6 mbps on a 4 MB package. I live in IL and they just merged to the Sprint Network. They atleast provided me with a new cable modem(WEBSTAR I believe). Now I cant pull over 3.8 mb although sicne the switch the internet is so much more reliable. I just want my 4.5 mbps back that I used to have. I understand I get good speeds for only $30 /month but I want my close to 500kb/s bakc on downloads. I max out at 375kb/s now. Upload is still lousy though. If only Comcast was 200 miles closer to me , I could get the speed upgrades they are proposing. PS: I run a Linksys WRT54G router and a WebStar modem.Does anyone know anyways to improve speeds? Well my issues were solved when they fixed one of their servers. I went from a 300 ms+ ping to constant 40 ms.

I just used insight's web tech chat I did have to push my way to get a decent understanding since they kept saying it wasnt there fault. but my sppeds are more stable now after complaining.

Yah hopefully they swithc me over but i have a brand new pc with a AMD 3500+, 1GB Ram so i dont think it is pc related.

Speeds no longer that good. I am no lucky to get a constant 2 MB.

Yah i play Counter-Strike:Source and in a good clan but with lag io cant keep my kdr up. I see that they are aware but I wish Comcast was avaiable in my area.

Whats the point of genuine Windows customers only getting updates when in a week or to there will be a crack(u know what i mean). Microsoft is going to lose a lost of business I have a corporate verison of Xp Pro but it wouldnt let me download updates. Bad move Microsoft what bout all the business that use XP Pro Corp what r u going to do when they start complaining that they cant get updates. Also whats the point of windows update.com or the new microsoft update if its not used because every time u turn your head its a hacked version of Xp on everybodys pc. I dont know if I being harsh(?) but I have used Windows for 5 years and this is the stupidest thing they can do. People are going to switch to linux and other os(s) so wrong move microsoft. I live in Rochester,IL and every night before and after 6 PM CST I will lose connection or will have very low speeds.I am one the basic package 4000/384. I went to their website and they said the peak hours r 6PM-12 CST. I also have a hard time having a stable connection speed.One min a 3.8MB and then 2.9MB then 1.8MB and sometimes even 800k.The upload is fine. I use a Microsoft MN-700 Base Station and i have even tryed hooking up directly to the cable modem(Moto SB 3100) and no still not any better. The sad thing is im about 15 min from their Springfield office. I think they will be upgrading their servers being that they will be introducing phone service in a couple of months.
