You have DSL, I have Fios. Theres a big difference. The 30 megs down and 5 megs up(30/5) coast $180 but i get first month free. Next month I will go to 15/2 for $40 a month. Way better than dsl and much much faster for 10 dollars more. (15/2 is normally $50 without verizon as your long distance carier for the phone.)

well All my hardware on this end is up to par! I did everything possible. Quick over view: cpu-2.4 HT, ram-512. hd space- 290gigs, 10/1000 built in the motherboard of my dell optiplex270 nic which is on 100 full duplex, d-link router set on 100 full duplex(router givin from verizon free). I set my tcp recieve window to 307824, 30 megs. I dont know I tried alot of other things the verizon tech wanted me to do. They have no answer for me either and say that it is a problem. also I put this on dslreports and all they say is I just want to blaim verizon for my problems. That if I was to saturate my upload it would cause my to have NO download. They know nothing on that site. here is the link

Yup, Im from Warwick RI and yes Cox uped it because verizon made fios available in warwick and north kingston. You should get fios if in these towns! First month is free I have the 30 megs down 5 megs up. But the 15/2 package from verizon is cheaper than Cox and also I feel fios is a better connection to the web then cable. Your speed during the day will not go to cap limit with Cox unlike fios. None of this fixes the problem. Verizon cant figure it out iether, I shold not lose all 30 megs down just caus eim upload ing at 5!!!!!!! period. Ill lose some but not like that.

Also I do my speed test here and at www.speekeasy.net/speedtest While uploading using bit torrent program. Speekeasy.net is very accurate as is this site when testin download speed.

Could you try it? Just so we could get an idea of whats going on. Upload somthing at ur full 2 megs and do a speed test and post your results. Thank you either way. If you descide to help do your speed test at www.speekeasy.net/speedtest .

I have the 30/5 package. When I upload at my full 5 meg speed I get not even 1 meg down. When I download at my full 30 megs I get only about 60 kB/s up. Or if I download at half my upload max (about 2.5 megs up) I get only half my download (15 megs down). So my question is do any of you with the 15/2 package have this kind of a problem? Or are you able to upload at two and download at 15 at the same time?

This question is directed towards the people with the verizon 15/2 package. When you upload at ur full 2 megs, are you able to download at 15 or close to it?

Called again. This time I was on the phone for more than an hour. We made sure I was in 100 mb/s full duplex. We made sure my router was in 100 mb/s full duplex. We disconnected the router and set a direct connect to my pc. Used a program called Dr. TCP changed my tcp recieve window settings to 307824, window scaling "yes", mtu 1492 etc. Nothing works. He tried to say maybe my pc cpu cant handle it so I told him I would upload on one pc and do the test on my other and still get the same results. Finally after all that he came to the conclusion that it must be there network doing it and if he ever hears of any solution he personally will contact me and let me know. So anotherwards if I use half my upload cap I only get half my download. If I use All my download I get no upload. If I use all my upload I get no download and so on and so on. Also said something like it might be some kind of security feature they do to make sure I'm not like a server or something like that cause I'm on residential package. Ill tell you what I'm sure plenty of people think I shouldn't complain cause of my speeds are so good but I dint think Its fair that I cant multitask. In all actuality I can only download at 15 and upload at 2 at the same time. I think in this case I should only pay $50 like the 15/2 package!!!!

You guys are not gonna believe this answer I got. I called tech support and the lady I spoke to gave me a simple "I dont know". She said, "Seeing it so new it could be an issue that needs to be fix", lol. Ill try back and talk to another tech.

Doesnt matter. I say that only because Ill do the uploading on my pc and will do the test on my bros pc in the other room and them are the rsults on the pc that isnt doing anything but the test. But for the record I have 2.4 HT cpu 512 ram 300 giggs of hard drive 256 nvidia geforce fx 5600 video card etc.
