  1. See most laptops only have two areas to put in the ram, and the ram that is currently in it is dual channel mode occupied by two 256MB sticks. So you cannot simply add ram, you have to "replace it". So in replacing I would make sure you max it out to 2 gb OF DUAL channel ram (expensive but when upgrading dual channel ram it is a must). You still would lose the orginal 512 or whatever it is. Sell it to a friend MB?
  2. i have the ZD8000 series laptop, it rules, I love it. I get 3,400 in 3dmark03 I get 1,900 in 3dmark05 50 fps in garrys mod full settings. The go does not kick the x600's ass in the least. The benchmarks for doom 3 on high settings were 27 fps for the x600, and 33 for the Go 6600 or whatever the top GO model is. All NVDIA cards play a bit player on doom 3 then ATI. Some benchmarks of the go ranged around 1,500 to 1,900 in 3dmark05. In all technicalitys they are about equal.
  3. What? my wireless connection wins 3 stories away. Getting closer would only make it perform better.
  4. I have Comcast, the basic 6/3 connection, and my wireless laptop after I adjusted the RWIN to what it was on my downstairs wired computer, downloads at over 150kbs more then the wired connection. I am using a linksys G router and was wondering how the wireless would outperform the wired? :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 6177 Kbps about 6.2 Mbps (tested with 20972 kB) Download Speed is:: 754 kB/s Tested From:: http://s121815182.onlinehome.us Test Time:: Bottom Line:: 110X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.36 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 46.48 % faster than the average for host (Comcast.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-JQLKCXB1E Those are my wireless results, while my wired is around 5400 Kbps. Both of these computers perform right around the same, 3.0 processor (Even though the laptop cost me my left arm for the specs it has) If my wireless internet is capable of getting this, would my wired have oppurtunity to go faster? Keep in mind that I am not sitting right next to the router, It is in the basement and I am in my room, so about 3 stories.
