  1. For all you wonderful people using and supporting roadrunner cable internet theres on huge and major price drop that you're sure to add to your account! As of the 1st of April, 2007 Upstate New York will now only be paying ($10.00) Extra for roadrunner premium 15mbps down 1mbps up.

    Basic: $36.09 . 10mbps Download rate - 364kbps Upload rate

    Basic With Premium: $36.09 + $9.99 . 15mbps Download rate - 1mbps Upload rate.

I just found this out, after I called regarding my connection and if i could upgrade today, but waiting 2 more weeks. I believe my bill should be around $150.00 - (All in one) Great rates people.

  2. Whats up people, thank for checking out what I'm planning for my birthday.

So basically I'm going to get $1,000.00USD for my birthday, and well I need help!

So heres the plan, with 1k I'm hoping to make quiet a pretty gruntful computer.

I'm wishing to upgrade and not just the regular stuff like a graphics card or anything.

I'm talking the good stuff, the CPU and the Motherboard!

    Heres what I was thinking:

    CPU:  Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz LGA 775 - [view]

Motherboard:  EVGA 122-CK-NF63-TR LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard - [view]

    Currently:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 Hyperthreading 3.00Ghz LGA 775 - [view]

Motherboard: Intel 915GV Micro ATX Intel Motherboard - Non-matching mine: Stock - circuit city sony vaio

Help me get the best bang for the buck, Please don't be afraid to post anything you'd think would work! I'm open to suggestions and anything you ask me. The computers getting pretty slow and I'm hoping to revive it! Don't worry about case size, I have a few extra cases around, that'll fit any board out there! Also don't wory about cooling, I have a Zalman heat-sink downstairs. [view]. And of course a few pictures to show you what I'm running and all that good stuff.

    Thanks in advance

  3. Looks like roadrunner basic is the only available connection they are offering with roadrunner. Have you searched for other connection types. Verizon FiOS may have landed close to you. It's basic is faster than Roadrunners and is only $39.99 a month. Check it out!

    - hope this helped. :smile2:

  4. Depends on wear you are if your located near your ISP's headquarters where ever your internet comes from, then your almost always able to get their 8mbp/s connection. Although Time warner has recently announced their 10mbps/356kbps upgrade from 7mbps/256kbps. Where are you located? If close to flordia or almost anywhere in new york you should be seeing speeds of 10mbps. This is not through-out the u.s.

  5. Alright so I've misplaced my cpu compound, and now I'm running bare cpu to aluminum heat-sink.

At 3.0% load I'm getting These heat settings.

I really need to find my cpu compound  :sad3:

    Edit: Open Case *

  6. Need I explain my connection type. But honestly the only option I have is roadrunner 10/356 Or $34.00 - for Roadrunner Premium. I've had both and honestly I feel like the premium is if not as slow as the basic slower! I'd like FiOS to land, but I don't think that'll happen for at least a few years. (Small Community) Are their any connection out here where I am, besides roadrunner? I've search the internet quiet a few times trying to get rid of this damn Roadrunner. And almost all have ended in this is the only cconnection. (<10mbp/s). I'd just like to see if anyone on Testmy.net has or knows of any website that will show me what I'm looking for. Thanks in advance  [geek-small]

  7. I'm really rather starting to hate that i went out the day myold pc hit the ground and bought this sony vaio, It's to slow for anything and I'm beginning to think I'll just save around $5,000.00, and build my dream machine. Look for it people, *starts saving*

  8. Heres a great one, I've seen macs and their processing power, i was wondering how do they get the almost completely jitter-free environments. Is it their graphics processor or their ram? I'm trying to get that kind of performance out of my Intel p4, Is this possible? Graphics cards a 7600GS, should i just up my ram?

  9. I just got switched back to roadrunners 10/256 connection. as i was on their 15/1 connection. And honestly i don't know why I switched or why I even thought about it. But  then again theres the money issue. Anyways I'm getting horrible ping times and i have no clue why I'm getting these. In-game I'm going from 40 ping to around 340 dropping then regaining the 250 range and dropping and so on. how in the world do i get this to stop? !!!
