  1. Your all by yourself then....everyone else pretty much hates it.......but those that do don't have much choice....

I'd lose 50% of my hatred for them if they'd stop showing those annoying commercials with Mike......

  2. DLEWIS is right. WPA can be broken in a few hours or so, and WEP just in a few seconds.  Most of the time, someone trying to break into your wireless wouldn't have time to break WPA2, even if they could.  At home anyways.....

MAC filter, SSID no broadcast, WEP, and WPA are all pretty much useless against someone actually trying to hack your wireless.  They can however be useful just trying to stop your unknowledgable neighbor, but if you can use WPA2, there isn't a reason not to....

  3. The first thing you need to do is call the company that installed your new stuff, and file a formal complaint to have them come back and replace your dish and transmitter.  When that installer drilled holes to "fix" the alignment, he completely ruined your outdoor equipment.  He should not have done that.

  4. Well im getting a new macbook pro, and it should be here next Tuesday.  I wonder if it will have Leopard on it?  They were ordered earlier in the week.

PS, I didn't know that they were made and assembled in China.  That's kind of upsetting.

FWIW, its this model, but ordered directly from Apple at a nice discount.....

  5. Haha, I didn't even really look at the OP.  I just saw the words realplayer and threw up in my mouth a little.  I didn't know the The Half was banned, what's the deal with that?

  6. I also have disks from compaq that would reinstall the entire operating system  if need be. Which isnt a problem, I just dont want to have to end up ordering Vista

Those disks wll only work on a Compaq manufactured computer.  If you tried to use them with the new motherboard, you'd be out of luck.

  7. actually its 15 out of about 60 that are 3 and higher, but in 6 months it'll look different lol.

No it won't.  Chip design and performance isn't based on higher clock speeds anymore.  Its becoming more about bandwidth, number of cores, throughput, and lower temps.

  8. It depends on how different this new motherboard is.  You may be able to hook it up, but that doesn't automatically mean that windows will load onto the machine without reinstalling.  This is especially true if going to a completely different brand, chipset, etc.    Make sure you back everything up that you intend to keep before trying this.

Are you putting this new equipment in the same case as well?

  9. Well, Im in Greenville, NC, and we recieved our new speeds on Tuesday.  For a couple of days it wasn't consistent, but now everything seems to have stablized.

Anyone else got their upgrades yet?
