  2. I haven't been hit by the DoD, but I keep getting hit by an IBM server out of N. Carolina. It's been going on for the past two days. The whois search listed it as IBM-1.
  3. My first comp was an old TI 99/4A with the speech synth addon. My second comp was an old IBM AT portable computer (40lbs., size of a large suitcase) with 256Kb mem and an 8086 processor. It had dual 5 1/4 drives, no hard drive, built-in amberchrome screen, and a flip-down keyboard. The video card did have a CGA out for a color monitor.
  4. Comcast came to fix the problem, now it's even worse.... :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 38 Kbps about 0 Mbps (tested with 97 kB) Download Speed is:: 5 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Sat Nov 12 2005 17:09:36 GMT-0500 (Eastern Standard Time) Bottom Line:: 1X faster than 56K 1MB download in 204.8 sec Diagnosis: May need help : running at only 0.85 % of your hosts average (comcast.net) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-KT87HWUC6
  5. Hopefully the 'tech' will be at least somewhat competent (there is a few around here that couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag....)
  6. Ok, I used to like my speeds, now the bite the big one. I'v been having issues for three, maybe four days. My download this morning was 141Kbps, upload was 121Kbps. I already called comcast twice, they think it's a pole issue and will send a tech out on Sat. to check. So much for having good speeds.....
  7. I guess I am what I am.... <a href="http://www.nerdtests.com/ft_cg.php?im"> <img src="http://www.nerdtests.com/images/ft/cg.php?val=3760" alt="My computer geek score is greater than 78% of all people in the world! How do you compare? Click here to find out!"> </a>
  8. I'd call your ISP about that. I have an 8/768 pack and I get around 730 on average.
  9. :::.. 10. Call your isp. I had a similar problem with rr when I had it. Mine ended up being a bad line at the pole and a bad modem.
  11. My modem seems to be ok. I tried cablenut, but my connection got worse. I might have set up cablenut wrong.
  12. Yep, kinda ruins you day when your system gets knocked down by a faulty p/s.
  13. I had 1GB of mem in my system. But when the old power supply died, it took out one of the mem modules. And I have a 450 watt power supply in it now I do plan on getting more ram,a bigger case, and bigger power supply.
