yeah he set all that up inside the router, I think wep and mac or wait i'll look running wep 128 with 4 keys? wtf lol yeah they said there is a 30 day warranty on their services! father in law said i am not worried about if i got internet then i am happy, i said yeah but something isn't right, if it's not showing you as connected to the router lol. I said at any minute down the road it could stop working for you and then wut if were out of the 30 days, you're screwed again lol...... yeah the tech said he was logged in with his pda. Adelphia will be out tomorrow to fix the cable i hope, I just don't know what would be wrong with it, unless maybe the neighbors though the they would T off our line at the pole and get cable for their temporary trailer while their house is being rebuilt after a fire??? would that cause the problem lol.. bastards... sorry just wasting time sitting here in my brace and icemachine after ACL surgery.

oh yeah, we are still getting online via the cable modem, but only getting about 700 in speed, but when I tested via speedtest.adelphia.net it showed my normal speeds.

After several attempts to get the wireless setup and to stay up, I was unsuccessful. So my father inlaw was wanting the wireless connection from my router/internet paid for geek squad to come out and set it up. he never set foot in my house where the modem and router is at(which is fine he accessed it via his pda!, well after he got it set up the cable internet misteriously stopped working(well kinda I am getting like 900 kb's, really slow for a 6/768 connection that is used to running at 6500/912........ I called my ISP and he wanted me to try a speed test but then said you don't need to, i see the problem, we have to send out a tech, you have I could have swore he said ping lost, but i think he said packet loss, either way he said he needed to gain access to the pc and modem when they come out tomorrow.....Well while we were on the chat i got a pop up from them that wanted me to download or install a remote agent which i did, but I forgot to disable my abyss app, and remove it from the systray. do you think they are coming to do something with my computer reguarding that? and why would the cable just mess up all of a sudden? co-incidence? one more thing, I was logged in with vnc to the wireless computer, and watching him complete the transaction, and after he was done he changed something with settings and then restarted, well after the restart I can't get on with vnc, and I don't see the wireless computer on the router setup page under the clients table.....but the computer is still getting online? wtf? geek squad is calling me tomorrow also. well just figure di would vent.

I know my motorola v710 has GPS on it for 911 and for location, as well as my parents samsung through sprint, mine is through verizon. but is there a way you can track say, my cell phone to see where I am at? what about the nextel's and such. I was just wondering cuz it would be cool to do such a thing. and if so how do you do it? with what programs, and what do you use for identification? later guys

yeah I noticed when i close azureus, i have to go into the processes and close out the 70k-94k mem hogging program lol. seems to be working today alright, I uninstalled azureus, defrag'd both drives, and things are looking up. I am running 690 mb's of ram I am thinking of finding another stick of 512 though

yeah I can't wait for the extremem to get here. I thought the plan was for the extreme to just move into the place of the 6/768 plan?

HOW'S THIS?

Has anyone had this happen. This has happened 3 times now, I'll explain. downloading several large files, about 5-9 at a time, pulling totally bandwidth of 90kb wutever, and uploading about 120kb?? all night. wake up in the morning, and 2 files are done. close out Azureus and go to surf and it's sluggish, wants to work offline, i go to processes and make sure azureus is not running, couple times it was and was using 75,000k mem usage. still sluggish, won't run speed test, can't access router setup page. I had to turn computer and still nothing.... finally shut down computer, unplug modem and router and power cycle them, and it's back up. Why would it do that? is it something with the Azureus program or with my computer, or is the isp making my connection lag cuz of the usage? any takers? thanks

it works most of the time just fine. but sometimes when i type in a url and hit enter it pops up with a connect, or work offline. WTF? does anyone have this problem and what is causing it? sorry more info might help runing xp home with cable internet, linksys router wrt54gs

wow. I have a computer wired to a wireless wrt54gs speedbooter linksys with the remote antenna base and 7db antenna's pointing the direction of a desktop with a wmp54gs speedbooster pci card, with oem antenna, and I am getting excellent just about all the time, with signal of 74%-78% and it's 200 ft away with 2 a wooden wall and a solid brick wall that is filled with concrete as well, but that computer is right by window and the antenna is pointing at the window. download speeds are great 5800 down and 840 up. i get 6300/930 on my wired, adelphia connection 6/768. both have van burens 6/768 cable nut. i think i am doing pretty good then.

i got it figured out thanks to the non english speaking tech at linksys. come to find out something or someone changed the ip address and it wasn't obtaining it got it all working now. woot woot. now I just gotta figure out how to link the 2 computers together via the network. any help?

i think it would cause more damage if I shoved it up your arse, than conking you over the noodle with it lol. OUCH I might move or unplug the phone tomorrow and go down to the wireless to see if it will work, but I know one thing. this wireless stuff is a pain in the arse to get working. should have just ran a strand of cat6 over there and been done with it. it's 200ft line of sight or air wut ever you call it. lol and actually cable feet from router to computer it would have been I think 275-350 or so.

no it's not the phone it's the aliens doing something with the phones lol.. well I wonder if that is some of the issue then. we have a junk GE 2.4, and over at the other computer there is either a 2.4 or a 900 phone. I think we should just get a 5.8 and it wouldn't interfere! would it?

i knew that 2.4 phones would interfere but shiot. the phone is right above the router at this time lol.

might have it figured out, I'll have to wait til torrow after work. but I talked to linksys for the 3 time. damn you can't understand anything those foreign people say. I switched to talking to them over the internet wow. but anyways the guy told me it might have something to do with windows wireless controller or something might have disabled the linksys program or something, which makes since cuz the linksys application was not green like it was when it was working instead it was grey and there was no activity. so I am going in and trying to set up the xp wireless adapter or whatever lol. well later guys just thought I was fill you in.

DESKTOP WAS CONNECTED via a pci wmp54gs yesterday with windows status(forgive the crude terms) with 36-48 Mbps, and through the linksys it was saying 48-51 % strength on channel 6. worked fine was surfing at the isp's advertised speeds. down was 5.8 and up was 750, but that is where it stops I went to work and father in law shut down the wmp54gs connected computer that is in the shop on the other side of the property(we are on adjacent properties 200 ft away) turned it back on this morning and couldn't get on aol. i got home and he could ge on IE, i went down and aol had switched. i fixed it and it can connect through the cable, internet is working also. We are getting 64% signal today, but with the windows status it is ready anywhere from 54Mbps to 1-2 Mbps wut the hell lol. can't connect to the internet or aol cept for dial up. I could access the router setup page from the wireless computer but once I went to change a channel or click on a sub directory in the setup page it popped a screen up about connecting and something else. why is it losing connection? the router is a wrt54gs we have a linksys external antenna base with the 7 db antenna on it pointing at the house. can anyone help me? oh p.s. no security of any kind is turned on at all.

no my problem was solved when I got a pci card that actually worked fawkn A lol new card working good. signal strength of 51-58% through the linksys icon thingie. through the windows network status thing I am running 36-48mbps speed tests was yeilding 5.5-5.8 on the down side and 750 on the up side. not bad for 2 computers pretty much behind concrete and brick with only 2 linksys 7db gain antanne's and a remote locator for the router antennae'(cuz the router is in a desk) next i am getting a rubber duck 9db antanne from http://www.pcnewsgroups.net/link.aspx?url=http://www.fab-corp.com

can't use it. you don't have a can't use it you don't have a 6.0/768 tweak. :-{(

we have linksys's external antenna that you screw into the router and move a base 6ft away from the router, and we also got their good antannas as well. but I think it's a matter of setting the card up. and for some reason I can't get the cd to install, it's like the cd is fubar'd so I don't know. I mean I want to get intenet access to that computer but damn this is a P.I.T.A LOL So I don't know.

shut all down and retested 5.7-5.8-6.4 without anything up opened all back up cept for the outpost and I am getting 6.4-5.7-5.8 :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 6408 Kbps about 6.4 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 782 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (server2) Test Time:: Sat Dec 17 00:34:39 EST 2005 Bottom Line:: 114X faster than 56K 1MB download in 1.31 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 90.77 % faster than the average for host (adelphia.net) I think the problem is OUTPOST is there some better settings for it or something? btw thanks for the insight. I knew all that would hog it, but it never has in the past, and it doesn't for any other testers, so i overlooked it. thanks man.
