  1. nm I ran Spybot-S&D and it detected 3 issues. I fixed them and it seems my speeds are back up to 6.5mbps

  4. It ended up around 870-880 KB/sec. The speed was still dropping, but only by ones though.
  5. I didn't know that 400 less than advertised was very close to cap. (<<not sarcastic remark) Can I get any better speeds by tweaking? I'm consistently getting around 6.5Mbps. Oh and what do I do with the 50Mb file? thanks for the quick responses guys
  6. I tried connecting the computer directly to the internet(so I can find the true speed), but it couldn't get a default gateway. Maybe there's a setting in my modem for "bridged ethernet"? I am using an ARRIS cable modem.

  9. I believe there was a tweak guide on this site where you would find the right MTU setting by using the ping command in command promt and increasing the MTU until you had packet loss. Anyone know what i'm talking about?

I've used hijack this/spyware scans/ADS scans/virus scans/firewalls/VanBuren's cablenut settings...basically everything in the stickies. Is there any more I can do?
