I just bought a new notebook with a celeron M 1.6 ghz. i mean its not a power house but i bought it because of price and hardware. I'm realy tryin to get a decision goin vs the two processors because i realy dont know the difference. I looked up data on the two and they are pritty simular except for gaming performance. In this catagory the Centrino took a lead but not a conciderable lead (the data was between 1.6ghz celeron and 1.86ghz centrio on my Toshiba M55 Notebook). The thing is even thou my notebook was only 750(with $150 rebate even thou i only realy see rebates on the celeron) and the Centrino was 1150 no rebate. So is the 250-300$$ realy worth the Centrino up grade or was i better off gettin the Celeron? O and my Toshiba M55 1.6 with 2 gigs pc4200 ram out performes my friends Dell 2.8ghz with 1.5 gigs pc3200 and the dell is brand new my Tosh is 3 months old with only 5 gigs remaining on the HD. So anybody have any input ?

u can hook up as many as u want. i thought the same thang untill i asked the tech he said the only they look for is a buisness type enviromant. Which i have i run a landscaping buisness with a 3 comp workstation in my office "this type of set up it what they work for" plus my reg comp and my notebook located in my bedroom. Thay only do that so they would force you to pay extra for their cable buisness subscription. But they guy was cool enough not to say anything. Everything runs wireless so its easy for me to hide it. If anybody has a set up like this i would hide it just to be safe if u dont run a buisness dont worrie about they caint do anything.

BEWARE DO NOT CALL ANY OF THESE AREA CODES 809 ,,, 284,,,, 876 This scam is set up so u get messge,call,beep,e-mail,SMS,. The messages say a family member is ill, someone has been arrested, you won a prize and so on. When you call the number you are automaticly charged $2425 a min with people seeing charges of $24100.00 or more. These area codes are located in the British Virgin Islands and are a pay per call like US 900 numbers. But being that they are located in the Bahamas you dont have to be notifed of the chargs during the call at any time untill you get your bill and its to late. Being that this is perfectly legal under the circumstances your basicly screwed, and have to pay it. I just got a E-mail from AT&T and verizon today stating this. I thought i would pass on the info cause i know i would be EXTREMELY pissed of if this happened to me

i have a Toshiba M55 Sat laptop with Ati Express 200M Gpu It has a S-video out to hook up a TV or multiple monitors. When i first tried it it had very bad resolution on my tv. So i installed the Ati Catalyst Control center messed around with the settings, and now it is very clear but wont display my icons, windows i have open or the mouse. it only diplays the back ground of windows. Does anybody have any ideas i'm totaly stumped on this i have no clue where to even start ? any help i greatly appreacit it

if u caint your messed comp to run ... just take your HD's out of ur messed up comp and put them in your working comp, and jus burn to disks from their. the only problem is you might not get the one with the OS on it to come up ive done it befor but it doesnt always work. even if u caint get the one with the OS to come up it still cuts your cost of the labor in hafe if u decide to go that way. Only do one drive at a time and make sure your origional HD in the working comp is last on the cable.

Nope none of my security programs find anything ,maybe once in while a tracking cookie but thats about it but alittle while ago i did download the Generic trojan downloader MUM virus i did get rid of it thou within 5 min or so but maybe i missed something from this virus or my scanners aren't picking up maybe a part of it that might be left? i did read somewhere online that it isn't the easiest virus to get rid of ? whats every1 else think ? and i did try cable nut i used the 1500 cable setting from the downloads in the sticky. And to be completely honest with you i'm not quite sure what the numbers mean in the settings name can any1 tell me . i picked that setting cause it gave the the fastest and most consistent speed.(even thou today i'm running at around 2.9 to 3.5) thanks again for all your guys help

Does anybody have any ideas? i'm on a 6Mbs Comcast connection. i was running at 2.5 but ran cable nut did a few tweeks and got it up to 3.9mbs i ran Hijack this but couldnt see anything wrong. did CCleaner virus adware spyware malware scans all clean. Comcast check my modem and its connected at 6.6mbs. Their sending out a teck but i want to make sure its not my comp befor he comes out. here are my scores :::.. i just got a new notebook its not the "best notebook" but it has supprised me on value. i just picked up a Toshiba Satellite M55 S139 . i got it for $800 reg $1050 with a rebate it has a 1.6 GHz Pentuim Cel M 14" HD screen. DVD dual layer DVD/w & CD/w. Win XP pro, a GIG of PC4200 533MHz ram ( IN ONE SLOT toshiba doesnt cheap out on parts) the mother board is Dual Channel capable with 2 DC chips installed, ATI x200m video card with up to 256 mb intergated memory ( it runs guild wars counter strike Americas army half life 2 all the highest resolution perfect if u ever wanted to game ) i thought the celeron 1.6 wouldnt be fast enough for me but it actualy surpasses my 1 year old dell 2.8 GHz 9800 the only thing is the battery life with an upgraded 8 cell battery i get about 2.5 to 3 hours but i'm also usualy playing online games. (the higher models get better proformance) Check out Toshiba they have the number 1 Rep for notebooks great value and use high end parts i have yet to test their customer service and u can get a notebook for exactly what u need
