There are a few info you need to find out before you can tweak:

What are your ISP advertised speeds?

What is your comp's present settings with regards to MTU, RWIN and latency?

Is your comp free of viruses, spyware and malware?

If your MTU is 1500, you need a new ccs file.

I think you meant 127776 in TCP Optimizer as it is a multiple of MSS 1452.

So is your MTU 1492?

What are your ISP's advertised speeds for download and upload?

The most important settings are DefaultReceiveWindow and DefaultSendWindow. Why are they left blank?

GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize should not be blank but should follow TcpWindowSize. 

What are the values in your ccs file for the following:

DefaultReceiveWindow

DefaultSendWindow

GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize

TcpRecvSegmentSize

TcpWindowSize

Try setting your ccs file with this:

DefaultSendWindow - 16384

I use both: first with TCP Optimizer and then Cablenut.

It is like TCP Optimizer gives you a general tuneup, and then Cablenut is used for fine tuning.

There are 3 parameter fields that cannot be manually tweaked by TCP Optimizer but accessable in Cablenut:

DefaultSendWindow

GlobalMaxTcpWindowSize

TcpWindowSize

I don't do clean up. Use any hard disk for 2-3 years and it's capacity will become too small.

I will then buy a new hard disk, and the old one becomes a backup data disk. 

Here are a few tweaks that are not mentioned for Cablenut and TCP Optimizer.

Pricing = Baht 952/month unlimited (US$ 25)

Speed (Kbps)= 1024 vs 1004 and 768

Location = Bangkok, Pravet

Here is a cablenut file to tweak your window registry. Download the Cablenut Adjuster from www.cablenut.com. Use it to open the ccs file, click 'Save to Registry', exit and reboot your comp to take effect.

I believe the above was an old tracert.

Do a tracert, click 'Start' and then 'Run'. Type "cmd" into the box and click 'ok'.

A DOS black screen will appear. Type after the C:

tracert www.testmy.net

and press enter key

When test is completed, move mouse cusor to the DOS black screen, click right and choose 'select all'.

Move mouse cursor to the Quick Reply box of this forum, click right and 'paste'

Do your tracert to www.testmy.net again and post.

I guess the best arrangement would be to place the phone on the side of your CPU and router on the other side of the desk. The modem should be on the floor below your router. If you have a low support, use it to raise the modem off the floor but still below your desk.

I was just wondering about the signal route of the tracert.

Assume you have 2 comps to a router and then modem. Should the signal route not be like this?

You have a bad signal on your second hop:

2    *        *        *    Request timed out.

Check the cable connections to your modem and also if your modem is working correctly.

In addition, make sure it is not affected by electromagnetic interference (EMI). Possible source of EMI includes router, sound speakers, cordless phone set, TV set, power supply box of CPU, etc.

I believe this is the best combination for tweaking your window registry.

The other factor to improve speed is to attain a clear and strong signal, that is, improve on line quality and ensure you have the latest drivers for your Nic, router and modem. Also check and minimize possible electromagnetic interference on your signal lines and devices that may slow your speed.

You can use tracert to one particular site at times of different download speeds to check for possible interference to your wireless transmissions. This may enable you to isolate causes of speed fluctuations.
