  1. i've had verizon DSL for awhile. i have not had any problems with my connection except when the phone lines were torn down by a tree. the only real problem, if you want to call it that, is i live about a mile from the telephone exchange. i pay for a 3mbps connection. my download speed is anywhere from 1mbps to 2.8mbps. it averages about 2.5mbps. and then there is tech support. i must admit that verizon tech support is, well, different than most. all in all, i would recommend verizon DSL.
  2. sorry testmy.net. i have two others bookmarked, testmy gets used 80% of the time. the others i have is verizon and speakeasy.
  3. try here: http://users.cybercity.dk/~bse26236/batutil/help/MSCDEX_S.HTM in addition to MSCDEX you will also need a CD-ROM driver such as oak. another sie, this one has actual autoexec.bat and config.sys files. it also has links to oak drivers. http://oldfiles.org.uk/powerload/cdrom.htm
  4. there seems to be a problem with the verizon database. when i test my download speed the test runs and displays my results but the average for verizon is zero. no matter what my speed is it will always be 100% of my hosts average (verizon). also my stats aren't being saved. here is what is displayed after the test runs: Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/test/results.php on line 430 Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/test/results.php on line 431 Warning: Division by zero in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/test/results.php on line 473 when i check the host stats and select verizon.net the following is displayed: Your host is verizon.net Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 396 Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 397 Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 400 Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 401 Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 404 Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 405 Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Unable to save result set in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 407 Warning: mysql_fetch_row(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/testmyn/public_html/tools/database/host_stats.php on line 408
