    Yea I am fully aware of my rank.. but the only way that can be increased I am told is by more of my users having the alexa tool bar because alexa reports info to google - also the google toolbar should help rank too.

    That is one way... The main way google works, however, is that it ranks how many other pages link to the page. We should all check out https://testmy.net/link_to.html and link to this page if we want to cheat google. Do this especially if you have your own domain, and it shows up when you google it (ex: testmy.net).

    lol, nope. If I were to do that, I would have written out a longer script. :wink:

    Don't use those exact settings. They are for a high latency satellite connection. Just look up what those individual settings are (rwin, MTU, etc) and put in the values that you find from using VanBuren's tweaks. Of course I don't think you will be able to tweak all of those settings that VanBurnen's page tells you to on linux, without some research.

    Pretty much all of the configuration for connections as far as tweaking goes, is done by a couple of commands that are run once the system is up. Either you can enter in this information every time you boot (good for initial tweaking/testing), or you can put the neccesary commands in your /etc/rc.local file. This is the file that gets executed once the init process is done. You put commands in here just as you would on a command line with commands seperated by being on seperate lines.

    I was just about to post saying that looking up the hostname would be better, as it would show those that would try to access your web cam, that they can be tracked better. I know that if I was just some web browser, I would be more concious of where I went if it said blah.city.isp.tld rather than just the four octets of the IP address...

    I would imagine that you could put in a frame to run this, or just insert it into an already PHP page.

    Edit: if you look at the source for the two PHP scripts that I have posted, you can pretty easily figure out the required directives, and write up your own combination for a page displaying that infomation.

    That outputs all of that info. It is an shtml file, which I know little about. I would guess that there is pre-processing server side that must be done.

    To see how that comes out, just go to http://www.litelinux.net/faskdjl That page doesn't exist, and will bring up the 404 error page.

    I would imagine that you could use the IP Adress directive to get the info you need. This would display... not log. You should probably still have a firewall doing logging.

    I was hitting the back button on the browser, to see how fast the cache would load... I guess it loaded slow enough that it fell under the cap. I was then forwarded to a giant 12 MB test! :shock: Wow. I won't give out the link CA3LE 8)

    It is a limit from within IE. Getright and DAP aren't affected by this. The registry entries can be found here: http://www.dslreports.com/faq/2022

    Here it is used to allow staellite connections to send multiple concurrent requests for things on a page. This speeds up page loads on such a high latency connection. This also allows downloaders to use more than 2 downloads in IE.

    The specific entries are:

    how did you got that fast?? some T1 connection mybe? :?:

    A T1 is about tenth of that download. It's about equal to the upload, however...

    I would imagine that upload sorta sucks due to throttling/other users. I would imagine that a line that fast is some sort of a symetrical fibre line. This means that the download and upload speed would be the same. Most likely the administration doesn't want large volumes of data to be uploaded, or possibly other users are utilizing more uploading than downloading. Strange, but possible.

    Is the 90 volts that comes from the phone line AC or DC? What is the final voltage once it hits the in house lines?

    I have been hit with a ring schock before. Put a nice little mark on my finger. I've also been hit with 110 AC. Not fun.

    I think if they could find a way to make the 60 hz frequency in the power lines not effect signal transmission, it would help get broadband to the rest of the United States without worrying about the biggest problem; the last mile. Even if it is slow... It would still make business sense, as you could get it to many people off of one wire, and those that could only have Direcway or dial-up would jump at the chance to get 512/128 even.
