i think i'm gonna buy a whole new router from ebay. I used a different power supply and it worked for about 30 minutes and now it won't turn on... oops!

well i do have a router, it's a DLINK Dl-604, but i don't have a freakin power supply for it! any recommendations to where i can get one?

well i got it to work by installing a new NIC card, (one NIC connects to the modem, while the other connects to the HUB) thanks for the help/info guys!

yeah everything is set to automatic... so there's no way to make them both work at the same time?

The router is a Linksys NH1005 and i can connect my pc to it and go on the internet just fine, but when i try to connect my xbox it gives me a "No DNS server" error. I'm not a noob at computers so you can tell me what to do or recommend and i should understand. thanks!

it's not like it really matters... i just wanted to see if i could do it... but i guess not. i use a crossover cable to connect my xbox to my pc while i use my cable modem through usb. a router would be better though.

i figured so... i have another question, I myself have comcast high speed internet, if he gave his modem to me would i be able to use both cable modems at the same time?

my cousin has comcast digital cable, and a cable modem... but he doesn't have the high speed internet service from comcast. is there anyway for him to be able to use highspeed internet without the service?

yeah i know i used to have DSL in california but i'm visiting my mom in new mexico, this is about 5x better than what i had! thanks again!

i was wondering what the usual comcast speeds were, because my uncles is about 557 KB/s and mine is only about 144 KB/s. I just got the internet about 30 minutes ago and i was wondering if it took a little while to get those speeds.
