  2. Yea i have tested with speedtest, and in real world. I guess just no one around here uses there comcast cable.
  3. Downstream Freq/Power: 579.000 MHz -3 dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio: 35 dB Modulation: QAM256 Upstream Freq/Power: 34.000 MHz 46 dBmV Channel Type: DOCSIS 1.x (TDMA) Symbol Rate: 2560 kSym/sec Modulation: QAM16
  4. Contrary to what everyone else says about comcast on these boards i consistently get around 25/2.5 (up down) with comcast. Now wait you say, its just powerboost you dont get those speeds! Not true in this case i can sustain a 2-3 megabyte per second download if the server has the enough bandwidth to keep it up. These usually apply to microsoft downloads, maybe googles. (over 700 MB's) torrents do not seem capped i have downlloaded a gig and a hlaf torrent at 2.2 Megabytes per second the whole way through, a lovely seeded torrent i must admit. I can seed torrents for hours at a steady 250-320 KBps upload or i can use FTP and keep those speeds. My latency is also quite low, i can even beat FIOS ping times to the same server by about 5 ms. It takes around 86 ms to ping hamburg which isnt bad. Now my question is, why do i have this. I do not pay for it. FIOS is in the area, so maybe that is a factor. I dont think i am that close to a data center, although i know all the lines up here are fiber (except to my house? which means it changes from fiber to coxial somewhere there) I know fiber is in the nieghborhod due to the fact i remeber them putting it in. So any idea guys?

I think this is lasting longer than speedboost should. it sometimes goes up to 500 KBps upload but then drops down to 250-300
  6. So its definitly not permanent speeds? So it will go down after a bit of time? Im not new, i juse never post i think i have been here a year >_>
  7. Ah sorry for bad typing on the first post. I have Comcast internet, my regular speed was 8/768. I just downlaoded microsfot office 2007 trial and it started at 3.06 Mbps and ended at 2.60 Mbps, is that just powerboost? the download was 300 megabytes. If it was just powerboosted i thought that just lasted a few seconds. Also FIOS is only a few miles (less than 10) away,i dont know if that has anything to do with it. EDIT: Oh and all last week my modem kept freezing itself.
  8. I went away on vacation and when i came back my speeds have been way up. I used to have just 8mbps/768 kbps up now i get this :::.. testmy.net test results ..::: Download Connection is:: 26436 Kbps about 26.44 Mbps (tested with 12160 kB) Download Speed is:: 3227 kB/s Upload Connection is:: 2327 Kbps about 2.3 Mbps (tested with 5983 kB) Upload Speed is:: 284 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net (Main) Test Time:: 2007/08/12 - 9:38am D-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-YP4XRIWG6 U-Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-0AIYO3X9Z User Agent:: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.0.04506) [!] What is the reason with that?
