that was my case... i've gotten around 3 modems already in 1 year.. i bought my own 2 days ago.. a motorola modem and this one is going smooth, now im getting my full speed.

the modems that comcast leases to its customers suck..

I've tried that and it didnt help.. I have already made up my mind and im switching to SBC DSL... im tired of this nonsence.

i have the same problem except that im paying for the 8mb and this is what im getting... Comcast sucks ass, i've had it for almost a year now, and my speed has been crap for the past 7 months.... Also when im playing any PC game it spikes like crazy.. I dont have anymore options here in my area except for DSL, but DSL sucks balls. I think im going back to Dial Up, I was happy with my 10kb download and paying less.

nice...mine isnt always 7.2..sometimes it drops to 7.0, 6.9 but its always around that

good luck with that man, i had the same problem...i used to live in a desert where the only internet was crappy 56k.... broadband wasnt even available on that area yet. hope everything turns ok..i know its a pain you know where to be on 56k
